Early Sony EV-S1 video8 Tape Loading Mechanism in Operation (Betamax Style)
Early Sony video8 VCR model EV-S1, these early VCRs loaded the tape just like a Betamax machine, where later video8 equipment adopted the VHS style of loading system. This mechanism was shared between the EV-S1, EV-S700, CCD-V8AF, EV-C8u and others.

Sony CCD-TRV87 Hi8 Handycam Loses It’s Mind
Переглядів 664Рік тому
I just picked this CCD-TRV87 up today from my local camera store, and it doesn’t seem to be too impressed to have a new owner! This camcorder was very dusty when I got it and I believe some of that dust made it into the power/mode switch and that’s what’s making it freak out. It startled me at first because I heard a bunch of dinging and wasn’t sure what it was, looked over next to me and sure ...

A generator I rescued out of an old fire truck body that my previous employer was going to send to scrap. Runs very well and is believed to have very few hours. This is the cleanest original DJB I’ve seen.

A quick video showing some of the cool highlights and the bargain auction at the fall 2021 Michigan Antique Radio Club swap meet. The "Vintage Electronics Expo" has been going for many years, this was my first year attending one. There was supposed to be another for the end of January 2022 but it was canceled. Hoping for a show for the early spring 2022. The bargain auction (responsible for rai...
Rare 1961 Onan Diesel Gen Set 6DRN 20°F Cold Start
Переглядів 1072 роки тому
A rare Onan 6kW generator set I recently picked up and got running after sitting in a barn about 15 years. I've never seen one of these opposed twin cylinder, air cooled, diesel generators before, and I haven't found a whole lot if information on them. A very rare piece I'm happy to have in my personal collection.

Opening up a couple boxes I received from eBay over the past few days. Got a good deal on each of the "for parts or not working" pieces of equipment, and in the video we test their functionality to see if they really were a good deal or not.

Thank you. I will try with my old ADAT recorder
What about calibration after install? Do you have to hook it up or can you manually do it by going from low to high?
❤
Might need another starter after that episode.
Hello, does it play hi8 tapes?
what do you think is in there?
Do you know where I can get a service manual for Onan model # 6DRN Sec # 4RV/10 serial # 73C725449 ,it has same mortar as your video, help please lol

I have a 1969 Charger V8 that I bought in 1976. It came with the snow thrower attachment (and mower deck) and had been run hard. The cylinder was deeply scored, honed it, new rings, valve job and I use it for everything. Big lawn, hauling firewood through the woods with the loaded cart uphill etc. Motor runs great. Very strong and tractor rarely needs fixing. I've worked the hell out of it but keep it indoors and the oil changed.
@lowbudgetproductions thank you! Life saver!!!
I just acquired one myself. Runs like a top.
Front wheel bushings Wheel Horse part number 100166. Stens and others have them also, different part numbers
Thank you, I've been hunting around for 3 days trying to find what glow plugs my tractor took.
Awesome. Thank you so much. Great info.
Saved me a shit ton of time thank you 🙏
Thanks, man!
Hats off to starter
I have the same problem, how did you solve it? I'm crying
Beautiful engine!
That's the temperature actuator not the blend door actuator
That’s what the blend door actuator does! LOL
Do you have to reprogram the module?
Dirty injectors.
what kind of battery this camera has?
Keep it up man love these!
The Sony tr700 had a fluid Lens wich leaked out on my Camcorder and spilled all over the Lens, big mess!
You’ve unlocked the it’s 2022 and I’m still working Easter egg tune 😂 But yes probably just a dirty switch that can be fixed with switch cleaner.

Hi nice video! I'm new to these retro camcorders and looking at buying a DSR-PD170P used on ebay, would a firewire cable into a firewire card in my windows computer work to download the footage onto the computer? or does this reduce the quality of the recording in some way compared to other methods of downloading it
Nice! I just picked up an old 6DRN and I can’t find any info on it. Do you know where I could find manuals for it? Thanks in advance!
Mine has done the same thing from time to time and it’s always been remedied by rapidly cycling the main power switch and the lockout switch located next to the red record button. For the few times that hasn’t worked, a whack or two always seems to have sorted things out.
I ended up taking the front faceplate off and spraying some deoxit in the micro switches and that seems to have fixed it. I’ve never had a camcorder that would freak out like that, and thought it was too hilarious not to catch it in the act on a video.
What rebuild kid did you use and where did you find it. Looking to do one my self
Still hasn't been answered.. What was your specific condition for having to change the top actuator out? This is the best video that I've seen for this specific body style, but the failed condition hasn't been explained. It would help a lot of people to know what your issue was when needing to replace that specific actuator.
I’m having to replace mine because the driver side a/c vents are blowing warm to hot air, and my passenger side a/c vents are blowing cold air…idk if that’s the answer you’re looking for😅
I believe the failed condition is that the drivers side blows out warm/hot air while the passenger side blows out cold air. This is the same exact issue that I am having with my 2014 Sierra.
@@tomcunningham2063 that's my issue or atleast it was. I did the HVAC reset by pulling fuses and it corrected itself at one point but then it messed up again. That then made me wonder if the driver's side dual zone temp sensor was acting up. But i haven't messed with it in a while as I'm using the heat more so now.
@@cwdrake09 Sounds like we have the same issue and tried the same remedies. I too tried the HVAC reset procedure and it worked for a bit, but once I went from cool to heat and then back, it messed up again. The blend door was relatively cheap, it's just looks like a bitch of a job to do. I found another video this morning that is a bit more detailed on how to do it and has more information about the screw sizes and what not. Here is the link to it for reference: ua-cam.com/video/rk3eQIeV27w/v-deo.html
Don’t know if you guys are still having issues… but mine just went out. There’s a UA-cam video with a guy in an Escalade explaining how to correct it. I ran the ac full blast for 5 minutes. Then the heat full blast for 5 minutes. Then the ac again for 5 minutes. It’s worked for a few days. I’ll report back if it fails again. Hope this helps.
Where did you get these from?
Where is the passenger side located
I've been thinking of doing this with my 7500w onan out of an RV. Is that a harbor freight trailer or something else?
This was an old kit trailer I bought used years ago. I believe it to be from the 80's. 1000lb GVWR, so I figured it was perfect to mount a generator on.
The computer module that you have to remove to have the enough room beeds to be reprogramed or you just have to plug in back with no relearn procedure?
No disconnect the negative terminal in the battery tho b4 all this
That would be nice on a motorcycle
I dont have climate control but mines only blowing either on defrost vent or the floor vents what one should i change?
Mode actuator
Hi, I will buy a pd170, but what should I pay attention to when buying second hand and if there is no microphone on it, will it take a voice record and which model can I get a fish eye? I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
what are the specs on that turbo
Description says Garrett gt17
Very jealous of the DVCAM deck. Would love one of those. As for the camera. I own the PD150 and 170 and definitely that’s not a normal thing to be in it’s lens. Luckily doesn’t seem to cause it issues for you though 😊
Hi, I will buy a pd170, but what should I pay attention to when buying second hand and if there is no microphone on it, will it take a voice record and which model can I get a fish eye? I would appreciate it if you could let me know.
@@elvirdmr ask the seller to check hours on heads that’s shown in a menu settings. It needs an XLR microphone as no microphone built in. A voice recorder would have headphones output but normally that’s a 3.5mm socket and the pd170 doesn’t have that, only an XLR inputs.
You prompted me to orient my PD150 vertical and see if it has a bubble. It doesn't that I can see, but it's possible that the PD150 doesn't have a fluid-filled lens. That portable VCR is rad.
I (coincidentally) just watched your video on your PD150 the other day. I too have a PD150, but it's actually the PAL model, PD150P. I've been surprised how well it gets along with my other video equipment here in the U.S.A. I believe the PD150 does have a fluid coupled lens as well, I think my PD170 just has a small bubble in it's lens and its not a normal thing. Maybe a manufacturing defect or it had a small air leak in the past. I'm leaning towards manufacturing defect, though, as it wouldn't have been easily noticed in normal operation. I've been looking for a DSR-50 for a LONG time now, and they always sell for way more than what I consider their value to be. Took a long time to find the right deal for me. I've also bought about 10 new cameras recently. You've been pretty lucky yourself with some of your acquisitions lately, especially all the video monitors you have. I just went and traded off a couple of my PVM's (Sony 8041Q and Ikegami TM9-1) for a Canon GL1, GL2, Sony VX1000 and DSR-250. I kept my best ones, including my 14" HR model. I'm normally not a fan of making "unboxing" videos, but it gave me some content to upload (which I haven't done in a while) and lately I've been shocked with the really crappy packing jobs sellers have been doing, so I thought there might be some humor value in recording it, plus that gives me some ground to stand on if stuff gets damaged as a result of poor packaging. As a side note - apparently the 2017 version of Windows movie maker does a really crap job of deinterlacing and preserving resolution in standard definition video clips, as the VX2100 produces noticeably clearer and better looking video than what this happens to be. I think I'll be sticking to Vegas Pro 13.
Hey would you know where to get a fuel injector for one of these?
what capture card did you use in this video
Hello can you show how to pump fuel with hand on fuel pump? I have en Avant miniloader which is stopping in cold weather, mind it may probably help, but I dont know where this pump is located! I am quite new with it ...thank you anyway
What turbo is that? I’m thinking of doing the same
Description says garret d17
Sorry garret gt17
Make sure you use high quality VHS tapes, Using low quality ones gives bad recordings since the VCR is optimized for better quality magnetic properities, If you must use normal VHS tapes use VHS-ET feature if equiped, It optimizes the recording quality based on the quality of the tape to get better results than using S-VHS setting.
If I modify VHS tape so VCR thinks it's a super VHS, will a regular VHS recording show any improvement when played in super VHS mode? My machine will only output the S-Video when using a super VHS tape. So was thinking about modifying cassette to get S-Video output function on regular VHS recording to see if it's improved over using composite (RCA).
No, VHS is played back as VHS and S-VHS is played back as S-VHS. The only improvement you get from playing back a normal VHS tape in a S-VHS deck is the S-Video output, It's much better than yellow composite out even for regular VHS.
@@Capturing-Memories Thanks for your response. My machine will only output S-Video when utilizing a super VHS tape. I modified a vhs-c adapter and even though the machine recognized it as a super VHS tape, S-Video output would only appear as black and white.
@@1991Yammy That's what I just said, VHS is played as VHS, If you put a hole in it, it will be played as S-VHS and the signal will be wrong, because the VCR doesn't care what signal is on the tape.
I got a semi trailer a day ago it has its engine but the people who used to own it has taken the pump and starter off witch sucks
Hello Would someone be so kind as to take 1 minute to clarify a problem with video playback? I have a problem with a camcorder. Indeed, I recovered old hi8 and 8mm k7s in order to review some memories, so I bought a second-hand Sony Handycam Hi8 CDD-Trv95 NTSC camcorder. (all the buttons are in Japanese:!) works very well I can read new K7 Hi8s but not my old Hi8 and 8mm. therefore impossible to read them ... it starts up, but I have a blue screen. I wonder why I can't read these tapes when they are good too. On the other hand, the images of my old K7s only appear in quick reading. What is the motive? Thank you for your advice.
I always wondered why it sounded more like a flat 4 than a 2cyl engine and that's because it's crankpin is off set at 180c which makes the firing order uneven.
How about quality in comparison to original S-VHS tape? Did you test it?
I have a Mitsubishi mirage, which is basically the spiritual successor to the Geo Metro. Mines racking up miles quick I've been thinking about what I'll do when the dinky little 3 cylinder kicks the bucket. Now I know.
An appropriate sized diesel in that car should deliver up to 70mpg. I routinely get 50 on gas and have seen 58. A three cylinder turbo diesel would be perfect.
